Rawan Roshni is…

a Palestinian/Balkan Woman who lives her life to its fullest expression as a Global Citizen co-creating the reality on this earth

By profession she is a Singer-Songwriter, Performance Artist, Whirling Dance Instructor, Sound Practitioner and Facilitator. She brings the gift of her voice, as a singer and also a truth-speaker, storyteller, and space holder to every circle she is a part of

Biography

Rawan was born in Kuwait to Palestinian Diaspora parents, and  at 3 years old they took refuge to Jordan due to the Gulf War with Iraq.

 She lived 9 years in Amman during childhood, until she and her family immigrated to Canada when she was 12 years old. Living for 10 years in Canada completing Middle School & High School in London, Ontario and then doing her BA with a double major of Political Science & Near & Middle Eastern Civilizations at the University of Toronto.

 She graduated and started to travel the world, going to Indonesia and bursting her bubble, and then visiting her ancestral homeland of Palestine for the first time. She took a job with Madrasati NGO in Jordan for a year and learned so much as the Communications Coordinator, but also felt she could not be confined behind a desk.

 She found herself looking for more and did her Facilitation training with the Institute of Cultural Affairs in Toronto again. India was calling and so she set off again into the world to explore the outer and inner realms in parallel. 

 

Over the next 10 years she was based in Jordan and also spreading her wings and flying across the globe to Nepal, Egypt, Spain, Turkey, Morocco, Syria, Lebanon and more. Each place and experience left a strong mark on her experience as a Citizen of the Earth as she continued to work between the whole MENA region in multiple fields including photography, music, facilitation, festival organising, community catalysing, movement & sound healing workshops and much more! She was on many teams including but not limited to Manna Gathering & Mystic Earth, co-founding SemaZen Interactive Spiritual Music Project and most recently Qamarjan World Music Project.

 She always sought opportunities for growth and learning by engaging in many courses, trainings and experiences, including but not limited to: The ME JAM, Dervish in Progress, Sound Healing Training, ISTA Level 1, and more. Her presence in communities such as Rainbow Family, Sufi Communities, ISTA, ME Jam and more enriches her life and allows her to truly embody the revolutionary movement she feels in her blood and bones. Her spirit co-creates safe space for soul family to re-unite and re-member, igniting the spark of empowerment and liberation!
