Music

Rawan was singing from childhood, and began to do so professionally on the stages of Amman, Jordan in 2012. Her career had a life of its own, and after performing covers in multiple genres, she co-founded SemaZen: Interactive Spiritual World Music project in 2014, with which she performed in Jordan, Egypt and Tunisia, and released an album as well as an original single. She began releasing her own Bilingual Solo Originals in 2020, collaborating with a variety of producers. In 2022 she began performing her solo live-looping, music and poetry show entitled Al-Tuyoor: Messages from the Birds which has been showcased 6 countries thus far. She is aiming to release her first solo album soon!

Rawan’s latest project is her Solo Original Music & Poetry Performance where she takes on the character of the big bird traversing the skies and landing to deliver messages to humanity in a Trilingual Fusion of English, Arabic and Animal. This show has been performed in 6 countries from Nov 2022 to Sept 2024.

Ta7ya Falasteen

Rawan’s latest release is a translated cover of Leve Palestina by Kofia Band, speaking to her identity as a Palestinian and her call for freedom from the occupation! In collaboration with Laith Shawaqfeh and Fathi Hamadneh,  featuring voices of Barina Abaza, Jeena Haddadin, Ribal Jaafari and her grandmother, Alia Risheq. Shot and edited by Arthur Tainturier. 

Sirat Al-Ishq

Sirat Al-Ishq (The Path of Heart) is a bilingual world-fusion, Sufi inspired, original song made in collaboration with Canadian Music Producer Max Mira, and Jordanian musicians Rakan Jreisat (Oud) and Amjad Al-Saifi (Violin). Visualizer by Dozan Media Production. 

Pacha Mamma ~ Abbad El Shams​

Her third single ‘Pacha Mamma ~ Abbad El Shams’, released in July 2021, is a collaboration with Berlin based Palestinian producer Moody Kablawi. It’s a bright, joyful, summer pop song, including a North-African Gnawa influence.

Blue House ~ Baitak

Her second release ‘Blue House ~ Baitak’, released in April 2021, was an intimate look into her more vulnerable side with a sentimental indie-folk tune that goes straight to the heart.

SeaHeart

Her first piece as a solo artist entitled ‘SeaHeart’  was released in March 2020 with its accompanying video art piece, is a Bilingual, Experimental World Fusion track, made in collaboration with the Jordanian Duo MFKZT. 

Somewhere​

As well as an original single entitled “Somewhere” with partner Atef Malhas.

Positive Vibrations

In her role as co-founder and lead singer of the above mentioned music projects, SemaZen released an Album entitled “Positive Vibrations”

Rawan has performed in Jordan, Egypt, Tunis & Turkey in many different formations including a Reggae Band, a Funk Band, Acoustic Shows with Guitarists, in community Circles Concerts, with the Jordan Female Artist Collective, SemaZen, Qamarjan, Solo and more! With over 100 performances in her history, she is a performance artist of her own style - unique and charismatic in her authentic expression!
